One Page Dummy Load

From Nancy Lindenberg
Congratulations, Bryan, on a very attractive website. It is clean and clear, and very user-friendly.

Would you consider putting out one more issue on paper, of the Dummy Load? Just to finish up the year … it could just have headlines, and gently encourage the few who are hesitant to check into the website and explore it.

Being a paper-lover, I have all the DummyLoads for the past three or four years, in binders … if enough of the members want it, I would be willing to edit a ONE-PAGE Dummy Load, once a month, with headlines only, and references to this web site. I feel this piece of paper can be passed on to a lot of people, and provide an outreach for outsiders and newcomers. If a person moved to the county next week, how would he know about our group? we can’t count on the Journal for much help. What do you think?

Thanks Nancy, the one page summary is pretty easy.

Go to the home page and in the top right where it says Feeds: click Posts and you’ll get the summary done for you!

The one pager is a great idea until everyone understands an RSS Feed.

Nancy, Thanks – nay, many thanks – for offering to make possible a paper Dummy Load in this age of electronic words and web 2.0 and what-all.

The Dummy Load has a long history, going back to the early eighties when Bill Boyd and John Deeds put the first San Juan County repeater on the air up above Orcas Landing.

I’m happy that it will continue & I hope that you can use some of the formatting materials from the past.
